When was molten core introduced

Self buff, Target debuff. How to: For this boss you will stand in the middle of the raid in a giant circle around you.

Shazzrah will be pulled to you. When Shazzrah teleports to a random person in the raid, that person will run towards you so that you can taunt it back. You should turn around and find where Shazzrah is and run towards the person running towards you so that you can taunt Shazzrah back early and possibly save the person running towards you. Repeat as needed. Rating: 5 Sulfuron Harbringer 7th boss in MC.

Medium-Heavy melee attack. Demo shout. Flame Spear. Inspire enrage Flamewalker Healers: Heal. Shadow Word Pain. The MT will hold sulfuron where he stands, as MT you have to watch for when Sulfuron gets bigger, he will attack harder and faster for 10 secs this happens at random, when this happens spam Shield Block like mad. If Sulfuron knocks the MT on his feet the MT must engage Sulfuron in melee after he runs away and starts spearing you.

Rating: 4. Comment by are people still raiding here though that BC is out? Comment by Xukimonde If you're 70 and you never had the chance to run Molten Core though unlikely, unless you didn't get to spend much time at 60 don't think that you won't be able to get in there.

While finishing a guild-mate's Thunderfury, and looking for another EoS drop or two can never hurt, ehh we regularly trekked up to and including Golemagg with as little as eight players, and then brought in a couple more for Executus and Ragnaros. Even as players who farmed the instance to death at 60, it can still be entertaining to go back with little more than a party and accomplish what took in the same amount of time at 60 - and who knows, you might just pick up some lucky Bindings or an EoS for your trouble.

Comment by Just ran this today with 18 70s and 2 60s. Had a couple of wipes and did fine. People in the group is loving the gear cause they think they look cool and use it for RP.

Word of Advise make sure you have priests to dispell and when fighting Baron make sure you got healers paying attention to the rest of the group. Comment by me and my 4 level 70' friends were able to clear Ragnaros. Comment by I'm guessing its not possible to pug this raid As I have been in it We got to Baron before we called it quits. We didn't even wipe. It was a blast, considering almost all of us had raided MC way too much back in pre-BC.

No wipes on bosses, but, let me tell you, when you've got 80 Lava Spawns running around, and with the healers all silenced, you'll have problems. Comment by i wish people still did this one it seems so awesome. Comment by Apsalar MC has been 3 manned at lvl Yes, a complete clear. By a tier 6 warrior, T6 priest and T4ish feral druid. Comment by this dungeon is very easy now.. T4 feral druid dps specced was able to solo the rock elementals, core hounds, and could solo a molten giant if they were single pulls..

The corehounds do though. Comment by MC 2 manned a week ago by prot warrior - resto shaman. Might post a guide about it later on :.

Comment by Good old Molten Core People who played since BC or WotLK can't imagine how hard it was for 40 just beginning to raid people where 2 can clean everything within a couple of hours now.

The damned second piece of bindings never dropped for us and we never saw a drop of the eye So getting DK to 80 and gona clean all place solo. As you can understand this is just insane if you wanna hit exalted, since after you hit Revered you will just get Reputation from Bosses only. A whole Molten Core run should award you with reputation. Comment by Next patch 3.

Comment by what do i need to summon last boss? This means trivial mobs will continue to give out their full amounts of reputation on kill for the majority of cases in the game level 70 creatures in Stratholme, for example, will continue to award the full amount of rep to level 80 players seeking to boost their Argent Dawn faction.

Comment by Still requires that you kill all the bosses in MC before killing Rags and Majordomo. When you kill the boss associated with the rune, it douses itself.

Comment by Daylis 5 people, 2 hours. Feral tank, moonkin, lock, mage and holy priest. Comment by Im gonna try and do this, need a raidgroup, if anyone is intrested my char is snowfiring in skywall, pst me tommorow or day after first pst ill start, um just going for a 2h or some good pl8.

Comment by Do we still need to get attuned to enter MC and BLW now taht the new patch is out, i dunno i just heard ppls saying we dont need to get attuned.

Comment by This was fun. Did this with 4 level 80's. We were wearing mostly level 80 heroic blues and purples but nothing special and no fire-resist gear, just paladin aura. Took 2.

Highly recommended for those that, like me, always wanted to run MC but never had the chance. Also a good way to earn reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords if that is your thing. Comment by Tan This is easy. We 3 manned it last night. It took awhile but we each got over g and it was fun. Comment by I am trying to get the Classic Raider Achievement - Im not really interested in any quest there may be, just an achievement junkie.

I just did Onxyia's Lair last night and moving down the list it's time for Molten Core! Before I attempt it and while the server is down I figure I would stop in here and see what I need to get into the instance if anything. I spent about 2 days running around Dire Maul and then Desolace because I thought I needed to be attuned for Onyxia and needed the Drakefire Amulet as a key - both of which I didn't need!

Just needed to be in a raid group! If I could skip that wasted time for my future Raid Achievements then woot to me! Also - If anyone has the Coordinates for the entrance that would be super sweet If not maybe a little more detail about where it is located. Thanks for any help! DoC -- edit-- if your not hip to the groove like me right then its my pleasure to inform you that there's no need to be attuned to MC.

Comment by I can confirm this, Me and my Druid friend just ran a 50 warrior through for some gear and a chance at my Binding. Comment by I'm not sure if this has been said, I didn't read all the comments, butt Today one of my guildies and my hunter went to do MC to get my hunter one of the pets, after getting lost several times and with a little help from wowhead we finally reached the core fragment, as you can imagine, we basically cried when we realized we had to do the whole thing over again to hand the quest in.

So I suggested just trying to get into MC, we converted it to a raid group and voila! Comment by For anyone interested in running this for the achievement or farming old boe epics or trying to get the twink enchants. The droprates for the enchants certainly were improved as stated in the patch. All of the trash is soloable at 80 with decent gear. Every boss in the zone can be 2 manned, many can be soloed. Respawn info: The roaming ancient core hounds and lava surgers will respawn very quickly.

The fire imps to the left of the zoneline will respawn even more quickly. Everything else in the zone respawns after a few hours, and the giants take the longest to respawn they were back the next morning, but long after everything else - possibly only after a soft reset. The packs of core hounds that reignite are a disaster if you don't dps them evenly. They aren't a threat otherwise so take the time to tab through them and make sure that un? Shazzrah is probably the easiest boss in the zone.

Baron Geddis is much easier if you pull him underneath the tunnel leading into his area, where the ceiling will greatly limit your fall damage, if you have a mana bar, stay oom and wand, and use your mana as soon as it appears, and you won't take nearly as much damage from his mana burn, offsetting your need to heal to compensate for the lack of mana. Of course, if you can dispel magic, this doesn't apply.

For druids specifically: Shift into cat or use bear charge to escape the fall damage from the various bosses that will cause you to launch into the air.

Everything in the zone is vulnerable to infected wounds. Demoralizing roar scales ridiculously well in this zone, due to the low base attack power of many of the mobs. Majordomo looks intimidating but the only damage comes from the fire you're stuck standing in. Comment by frost mages might want to think about bringing a freezer with them I hear frostbolts melt in mid air down there. Comment by is this soloable at 78 good geared. Comment by Hi at the moment im trying to solo this with me retri pala we have gotten to the core hounds and i found them really hard, im doing it with a lvl 60 pally healer which help a little it just meens ive gotta keep aggro too which isnt easy-.

Comment by oh and at 78 i dought it is solo able because with my 80 pala im having diffuculties and he is good geared im geared for naxx so i dont think 78 can handle it. Comment by SeanDamnit The entire zone is soloable by a prot paladin. All the bosses are pretty unnoteable, they just take forever - the exception is Gehennas, who will kick your ass something fierce. Put up shadow resist, burn the adds down as fast as possible, and make sure you bubble out of the curse and heal yourself here and there.

The other pain in the ass is Ragnaros, but that's just because you don't end up getting a lot of DPS time before he submerges, so it takes like 30 min to kill him. Comment by 2 manned with me an elemental shaman and a holy paladin.

Took about 2 hours died a lot because we weren't sure how to go about doing certain parts. The holy pally tanked everything, healing himself a lot, and I just sat there doing damage. It was actually very easy. I think we could probably do the entire thing in an hour if we reallly tried.

Rag was easy, I just healed the pally when he needed it and other than that spammed lightning bolt. Took about 10 minutes. Comment by This may be a stupid question, but do u get XP in lvl 60 raids? Comment by Thottbot This is instance is inside of BRD, after you complete the seven ghosts you can take a path to it also near the dark iron forge.

Comment by Thottbot I've been though MC 2 times up to magnadar the second "boss" fight if you count Lucifron as a boss lucifron 4 times total. We killed Lucifron on our first try, and the last time we did it he killed about of us and we finished him off with about 15 people. The pulls are ugly and the bosses, and mini bosses have tons of life, i believe Magnadar has about , hp.

There is definatly a need of skilled leaders, and a group of 40 people that can take directions, and listen to them. Every boss fight takes completely different tactics and lots of trys : to perfect. He now rages war on the world tree Nordrassil. Upon successful completion of the encounters, all bosses drop tier 1 set items - excluding Ragnaros, who drops tier 2 leg items.

In addition, trash mobs may drop Fiery Cores, Lava Cores, and Core Leather, which can be used to craft armor and weapons available with Thorium Brotherhood reputation. The Hydraxian Waterlords offer a quest chain , eventually rewarding Aqual Quintessence , which was at one point required to douse the Runes of the Firelord in order to summon Majordomo Executus and consequently, Ragnaros.

Presently, defeating bosses will automatically douse their respective runes. Near the end of the war, Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron Dwarves , sought to summon a powerful fire elemental to defeat the combined forces of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. He was more successful than he could have imagined, as he released Ragnaros the Firelord from millennia of captivity under the Redridge Mountains. Ragnaros destroyed the city of Thaurissan and created the volcano of Blackrock Mountain.

He dwells there to this day with his elemental servants and the enslaved remnants of the Dark Iron dwarf clan. The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through. On release, Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair were the only 40 man instances in the game, thus Ragnaros was the first "game end boss.

However, prior to the Burning Crusade, slaying him was still considered a very important step in raid progression before engaging in more challenging content. It was the first raid encounter which required a concerted effort in acquiring massive amounts of a particular statistic in this case, fire resistance.

Moreover, the encounter was the first one to demand the extensive use of consumables, at least in the learning process and in the first few kills.

As such, it was once a very important stage in the evolution of a raiding guild. However, as of the Burning Crusade expansion, this is no longer the case, as this instance is largely obsolete with the introduction of Outland green items with superior stats to most of Tier 1 and the fact that most higher instances are lower than 40 man, making them a much more practical way to go.

It is now typically only run for the Molten Core achievement, or by players seeking to craft [ Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros ] or [ Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker ]. While technically there are no prerequisites to enter Molten Core through its entrance at the bottom of Blackrock Depths, every Core raider will want to complete the Attunement to the Core quest to enable the shortcut at the bottom of Blackrock Mountain.

This quest is given at level 55 by Lothos Riftwaker who is located just outside The Quarry, on the way to Blackrock Depths. Once attuned you can access Molten Core by talking to Lothos again.

When dead as ghost you also have the possibility to jump into the lava near Lothos. This can also be done by living players if they have a way to slow fall, or by jumping first onto the small ledge in the pillar on the right as you enter the main chamber of Blackrock Mountain, healing, then jumping down, back toward the wall of the lava pit, to cover the remaining distance to the platform below.

There are very few quests that involve the Molten Core. It should be doable by any 85 mage in reasonable gear. The basic strategy for each fight is to blow all of your cooldowns and kill the bosses before they kill your mirror images while keeping up ice barrier, frost armor and mage ward to absorb damage.

Some notes for each encounter: Lucifron - Nuke. The mind control will always be resisted. Remove his curse during or after the fight depending on your gear. Core Hound packs - Aggro and blizzard down. Since there's an AoE damage cap, I would not recommend that you pull all of them at once as they very nearly killed me before I killed them. Magmadar - Nuke. Trinketing or ice blocking the fear s could shave a few seconds off the kill. Gehennas - Nuke. Garr - Use your pet's freeze and let it tank the adds while you nuke boss.

Invis when boss is dead to save some time killing adds. Geddon - Kite back to the doorway you entered from to eliminate most of the fall damage and increase the time you can dps before your images expire.

Ice block after the fight to remove the debuff. Shazzrah - Nuke. Spellsteal his buff if you want; decurse yourself after the fight. Golemagg - Send your pet in first and use freeze when they clump together to let him tank the adds while you pop images and kill the boss.

He does a surprising amount of damage to you if you tank all 3 mobs and they burn through your images. Sulfuron - Kill adds one by one. You can't interrupt all their heals, but they die in a few FoF ice lance crits or a good deep freeze crit. Executus - This fight has the most potential to kill you; you should save time warp for this one.

The adds can't be burned down with deep freeze, though they can be stunned with it. Let your pet tank as many of them as possible and burn them one by one. Don't kill yourself with spell reflect. You can start the fight by sheeping one of the healers if you wanted to.

Ragnaros - Stand back and nuke him. Use slowfall or blink if you get knocked in the air. If you kill him fast enough he won't submerge, saving you some time. Comment by yom ahhh molten core Comment by remotettl so after 4. Comment by As of Patch 4. The Core Hounds are also larger than normal as of right now. Comment by there is one thing i dont get: how do i get in there in the first place? Second question: do i really have to walk blimp to gromgol and then flying mount to MC every time i want to do it?

Ty in advance. Comment by Soloed easierly as a Destruction Lock. Most of my gear was Heroics. Equipped Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether Keep Recuperate up as much as you can.

Lucifron : Nothing difficult, try not to aggro a corehound pack like I did. Magmadar : Nuke the crap out of him.

Melt his face. If you managed to kill the corehound packs, he's cake. Gehennas : Didn't notice he was a boss until he was dead. I cloak'd out of the debuff. Garr : Nuke him, use Blade Flurry to kill his adds. Geddon : I just killed him in the big flat area near Shazzrah. Shazzrah : Pulled him along with one of the Corehounds. Cake, he does piddly damage and has meager health.

Golemagg : Oh boy, I really had to try for him. I popped Cloak early to dispel the debuff, but almost died late in the fight Survived with 12 whole hit points! Burn him down as fast as possible, don't use Blade Flurry, just focus on him. Burn every cooldown you have, he HAS to die before you do. Sulfuron Harbinger : Cake, just nuke his healers down first.

Then turn him into an orange stain. Just move away when he teleports you. Had him down to k by the time he submerged. Add phase is actually harder than Ragnaros himself, I lost 40k HP during the add phase, recup was healing off Ragnaros' damage. Other notes : Engineers, bring scrapbots!

They really help for when you've been in combat for so long that your offhand starts to break. Comment by Solo'ed all of the bosses in this raid as an Elemental Shaman in Restoration gear because I dont have any Elemental gear lol. Hardest: Barron Greddon Easiest: Pretty much all of the other ones.

I had them dead in no more than 2 minutes, and on most of them I didn't even need to heal myself. This place is a very easy place to solo as an Elemental Shaman and I bet Enhancement could do just as well.

For Barron Geddon, you have to kite him to a safe spot where you don't get knocked to far high. About halfway through his health, I started to die so I took out my Earth and Fire elementals, healed the Earth and let the Fire do the dps. Also, he runs around fast as hell, so be sure not to get caught unprepared for him. I killed him in that little hallway between Barron and Garr. I killed Ragnaros before he submerged. For the Corehound packs near Magmadar and Lucifron, kill them one by one and be ready to attack again if they self rez.

They are Magic, which Restoration can remove if you have the talent. Most of the other bosses where just easy as killing random stuff for quests such as the creatures we kill in Molten Front today. Core hounds are hard to avoid so I killed most of them. They are immune to Hex, but the elementals are not immune to Bind Elemental, so I abused that spell to get around trash.

I killed the least amount of trash I could. At level 85, you can simply walk past them except Core Hounds and not aggro them. Make sure you kill the Core Hounds far away as possible from other trash, including the elementals because if they see you're killing something, they will join in attempting to kill you. Overall, it was a great way to kill couple hours and got about g and some sweet looking RP gear. Only got 1 Shaman tier piece though : P.

As if it is not obvious enough, you need some healing spells on your action bar! You will abuse them! Comment by Great way to make money if you are positive you are able to make it through here solo with no problems. After running this easily on my 85 warrior, I made over g with deduction of my repair bill , and for those grinding Hydraxian rep, I made a little over 2k rep and I skipped as much trash as possible.

The run took me roughly minutes, and is always a great blast from the past! I dps'd him down pretty quickly although he still hits very hard even on plate.

I didn't bother to kite him as I didn't kill any trash in the whole of the room. After he died I quickly sat down to eat as I had "Living Bomb" on me. Eventually it threw me up into the air and I landed with hp left, this was the closest I came to dying the whole raid. Was definitely a fun experience and I plan on doing it again when it resets.

Next to him is a window where you can look through. With a fly mount is the easiest way, just simply fly in to the window. If you are still using a ground mount, stand at the in side of the small room and "jump" out of the window. All I did was nuke every fight but executus, I had to move around and kill adds while at the same time continually putting up mana shield to mitigate the damage. I used mirror image at the start and took out the four healers, then I had to solo the elites all by my lonesome.

Sulfuron ingot dropped as well as two blood of the mountain Comment by Booraug I have done this raid easily 10 times, and ended up buying a Sulfuron Ingot just to get the plans for the hammer -. Comment by stratozeus Just did this solo as a 85 arms warrior with iLevel of and it was extremely easy.

Just avoid trash and just unload on every boss Best way to avoid this was to 'charge' right after he pushes you I just ran this to get the achieve and explore some of the vanilla content Comment by Zorie If you are attuned and want to enter Molten Core you can jump through the window hole to the left of the guy you would normally talk to.

Comment by SpartanG01 Does anyone know if the quick zone-in glitch still works? The one where you go into the pool of lava by the dude who teleports you? Inside Blackrock Mountain, at the far northwest corner inside, I believe, through the lava is the entrance to Blackrock Depths.

Before you pass through the tunnel system, the Blood Elf named Lothos Riftwaker has a quest called "Attunement to the Core". Accept it, and enter Blackrock Spire. In being at the dungeon Blackrock Spire, whose portal is a ways in to the room where Lothos is , you will take the Abandoned Mole Machine to "Just past the Grim Guzzler", and walk towards a ring of mobs. From there you can attempt to pass them, or kill them.

Take a right turn at the first opening to the right of the mobs, and NPC , a boss named Ambassador Flamewrath, will be there. Be sure not to leave any friends you may be taking outside one far end, or the other, of the boss fight chamber, as engaging him will cause a set of elite elemental giants to spawn on both sides of the sets of entrances and exits. They do give experience and drop loot, but if, for instance, you were running a friend through the dungeon who is a straggler, or who gets ahead, they would possibly die if they were too far behind you or ahead of you because of the additional mobs that spawn due to boss engagement.

Again, you may attempt to pass the boss, or kill him. From there, travel through a chamber to the left of the boss, and you'll find a room full of golems and non-elite dwarves. He drops bind-on-pick up gear, which benefits only few. From there, at the other side of the room, is a way into the next room. Slay each of the dwarves as they attack, and be swift. If one isn't killed fast enough, another will engage as well, on a set timer.

Once they are cleared, a cache next to the now-opening doorway appears that contains 2 of 4 rare pieces of gear. Go through it and kill or pass a few elemental mobs, and you'll run across what I believe is titled "Fragment of the Core". Remember to pick it up to the left of the new portal, it's a chunk of black crystal.

It is required for the quest "Attunement to the Core". Hopefully you will have somebody in your group, so you can convert your party to a Raid Group. It appears that as of the Mists of Pandaria Expansion, whether you have it or not, you may now enter raids without needing to be in a Raid Group. This helps if, along the way to Molten Core, you don't want to be in a raid group, seeing as it prevents progressing on any non-raid quests you might be handling at the time whether it be while waiting for a summon, or if completing quests while in the dungeon, etc.

From there you can bring up to 39 of your friends, or just 1 or 2, inside to do Molten Core. Upon exit, make your way out of the cave and back to the area overlooking the lava, and Lothos will accept the "Fragment of the Core" for the quest.

Note: I just realized, at the point when you kill or pass Ambassador Flamewrath, if you have enough regenerating health or powerful enough healing abilities you can jump off the ledge into the lava behind him; the issue is having enough fire resistance or having heals to sustain you as you wade North-bound, while hugging the West wall, to get across to the spot past the Fire Elementals on the ground prodding out of the lava a ways out.

Keep hugging the wall until you hit a ramp. Head up it, take a left, and find the 3 Flame Elementals blocking your path, kill or pass and then hang another left and cross the bridge ahead, and from there you're to the portal into Molten Core. Note 2: Please recognize this if you are to take the shortcut mentioned in the previous note! If you take the suggested shortcut route, and should you need to return to the dungeon, Blackrock Depths, from the raid, Molten Core: to get back to wherever it is you were wanting to go, you would be unable to, because of the fact that not killing the 7 Dwarves in their boss chamber, to get to the Molten Core Raid entrance portal, would result in being locked out from the outside of the 7 Dwarves chamber.

Because of that, your only escape route, to my knowledge, is to use your hearthstone to leave the place. As noted before, there is the off chance that you may find yourself, on exit of Molten Core by portal, at Blackrock Mountain vs.

Blackrock Spire. Major Note 3: As of Mist of Pandaria's 5. Unless it was some PTR issue, or perhaps if the attunement was account bound, I noticed that my character had the quest to attune to Molten Core displayed while being able to teleport as well as Blackwing Lair while being capable of using both teleports.

My friend, however, reported that he had no such access, and that he had to do both quests, even though suggesting he'd done the quests before. This leads me to believe he either: recollected doing so on live, did the attunement on an alternate character and didn't happen to get attuned, PTR bugs had a hand in this, or just some other queer issue. Simply keep in mind that, the moment PTR 5.

Although my assumption is that the effects are account wide 'the effects' being account-wide attunement access to teleporting once someone has first done the quest on any given character, similar to the Brawl Club , it is also very possible it was a PTR issue as of then unresolved, or perhaps it was something of another likeness. In any case, it is highly suggested that people test entry into such similar raids as Molten Core and Blackwing Lair due to the fact that if by any chance other raids requiring quest attunement to simply be given a shortcut entry can have the requirement of quest completion surpassed, well that's self-explanatory, I hope, but just to be clear, I simply mean this; If you've perhaps done the quest on one character, come 5.

Comment by Drakhanas Confirming Goneguy's post. Ret pallies can easily clear the place as Seal of Insight heals and usually overheals you for any damage caused by mobs, even bosses. I just did my first clear on MC yesterday, and the eye dropped for me on my first Ragnaros kill. Comment by Curycoo For Baron Geddon, as RDPS with a pet, i suggest kiting him back to the entrance to the room where he patrols, and hopping into the lava.

Eliminates ALL fall damage, as you are landing in "water". Just make sure your pet keeps aggro, or Geddon will pull you back to him. I Do this weekly on mah hunter. Good gold. Also, the Core Hounds are also much smaller. Not that big of a deal, but hey, it was annoying trying to sneak around the Core Hound room.

The terrible thing: trash no longer drops cold hard cash, only cheap items which can be sold for silver, and only select bosses drop any gold. For instance, I got 36 gold from Lucifron, but none from Magmadar. That said, they all still drop purples, still give rep, and the gear still looks great. Comment by Zigrifid As of patch 4. Comment by Myebika As of Patch 4. Can anyone else confirm this?

Comment by rzzr As of 4. Good news for soloists! Comment by Superczar Don't know if this is a glitch or not, but I did the attunement quest for Lothos on a DK, and he will teleport me into MC without me needing to be in a raid group. I even did it again to see if it was a one time thing but he still ported me in without needing a raid group.

Haven't tried it on any other characters though Comment by zimoo Just did this on my Frost DK, iLvl all pvp gear, so missing out on various dps stats in favour of resi Took 45 minutes total, killing and looting all the trash for the rep and talking to a friend on xfire at the same time.

Took all my blood gear as I didn't know what to expect as I'd only done it once and it was months ago with a priest spam healing me. Other minor heals from Lifebloom macroed into blood tap and rune of the fallen crusader on my offhand.

Didn't have to use any defensive cooldowns. Don't know about gold as I didn't look what it was before I went in. Comment by rowanr Is it me, or have the packs of Lava Elementals and Flamelords been buffed? I can barely down them now on my ele shaman as they constantly stun and interrupt me.

Comment by Had a few glitches with MC lately. Wanted to run through with a guildie but while we were in the same party, we got put into separate instances. This has happened a few times now. Comment by Handy trick for grinding Hydraxian Waterlords reputation for the Hydraxian Waterlords achievement in Molten Core : If you stand at the entrance to the zone, you still receive reputation for all boss kills done by other members of your raid, regardless of your location in the zone!

However, by remaining in one place, you can drop a Battle Standard of Coordination , and stay within yards of it. This appears to be a unique feature of using Battle Standard of Coordination in Molten Core , where you get reputation credit for boss kills just by being anywhere in the zone, eliminating the requirement for you to be near the boss, which in turn eliminates the need to actually have the Battle Standard of Coordination near boss, either.

Note that the reputation bonus from Battle Standard of Coordination stacks with Mr. Comment by DarkerFalz Solo cleared as a prot pally ilvl gear , with a few hitches.

Most of the fight was easy, spank and tank. Geddon was annoying, because of living bomb. I had to pop loh once, because the next fall was going to kill me I also don't have the greatest dps out there. First, on Rag, make sure that you're close enough to him that you don't get killed by falling damage when he tosses you.

I also used seal of insight, for the healing it procced a ton of times, so I was almost always near full health , might, and resistance aura. Seriously, you have to stand almost in the lava when you're fighting him. It does negligible damage, and when you get thrown, you won't get hit by the ground, you'll just land in lava. Bubble removes the debuffs that appear, as well.

Found that out by accident when I hit my keybind for it. Comment by julesberg Solod as 85 frost mage, ilevel with no problems. Used all my cooldowns in each fight just in case but only really needed it for the Majordomo fight. Rag was super easy, stood at 9 o'clock as far back as I could. When he knocked me back I landed in the lava as planned and didn't take any damage. Comment by karatechop inc down rates General Strategy: Core Hounds around the 1st boss and before the 2nd will respawn if any Core Hound is still alive a few seconds after other Core Hounds have died, so be sure you AoE each pack equally and kill them all at the same time or avoid them entirely--though one pack will pull with the first boss.

Some curses bosses can put on you can be slightly annoying, such as Gehenna's Curse , Lucifron's Curse and Shazzrah's Curse. Purification Potion can help if your class cannot decurse and you are having trouble with these.

The Core Hounds that patrol the instance will occasionally cast the nasty Ancient Dread or Ancient Hysteria debuff, so if you are unable to dispel this, be sure to burn them down as quickly as possible to avoid it.

If your class cannot mitigate this, you will either need to burn him down before he does it twice or pull him to the tunnel where he does not shoot you as high. Ragnaros Does a knock back to those in melee which will also cause you fall damage. It can be avoided by running away, or attacking with your back to one of the walls coming up out of the circle.

Comment by I have just noticed that you no longer need to be in a raid group to enter this raid. Meaning you can just stroll along by yourself and kill all bosses. Can anyone one else confirm this? I don't remember reading about this in any recent patch notes. While in bear form, I had no problem killing every single mob in Molten Core.

I pulled a few at a time and never fell below k health out of a possible k. The only trouble spots were the Baron, when he throws you up into the air, and Ragnaros for the same reason. On the Baron, I had to switch to cat form for the reduction in fall damage to stay alive because of my slow DPS. On Ragnaros, I used feral charge right as he yelled something about tasting his flames. I was able to avoid all falling damage using feral charge.

Happy hunting! Comment by Replicahk I recently found out you no longer need a raid group to enter MC as long as you can use the port after doing the attun quest. Comment by krelm so i was in mc today to solo as always and noticed something really weird with the core hounds Comment by togahsisoka Not only are the Core Hounds HUGE, but apparently the economy is finally having an impact down there as most of the bosses now have barely 2 gold coins to scrape together Seriously, nobody was farming MC for gold before, I don't see why they had to send all the bosses to the flippin poor house Comment by Alexianoryuu Sort of a response to krelm and togahsisoka both..

I noticed it as well. Edit for after having run the full go I noticed bosses have almost no change to HP - if it was, it wasn't significant enough for me to say "WTF? Bosses took about the same amount of time, as well. The only thing that disappointed me was the huge chunk of gold that the bosses no longer drop - it was a nice bonus for running it for the hour and a half it takes for me without distractions or such.

The only thing that made it better this week was that the Eye of Sulfuras finally dropped for me. All the bosses now drop around 1 gold instead of the they used to. Comment by Eclipsegirl I found this much harder to solo as a destruct lock than before. We lost several AOE spells.

The corehounds are HUGE, but you can still run around some of the groups before Magmador I chose the Grimoire of Supremacy, though some have told me not to. I had the Observer minion out for almost everything The way I got down the corehounds Observer on passive 2 rains of fire, and then harvest life, usually two or three times Other bosses I got down the way I usually did, but I took a lot more damage than I used to.

I also heal a lot faster. I tried to have at least 2 if not all 3 burning embers before I hit a a boss. Chaos bolt did help take the bosses down. As usual, Ragnaros was easy, thought I had switched to the Fel Imp for that boss. I would never have run this weekly for gold, it takes too mich time, but at least the gold was a good reward for running it.

Luckily I am almost to exalted. I took my level 88 hunter through, and there didn't seem to be many significant changes to me, apart from the obvious - and annoying - change to the gold drop. All of the bosses who dropped any amount of gold are now down to one or two gold max.

Even Rag himself dropped under three. I'm quite disappointed about that, because it used to be a very nice little money-spinner for anyone over I understand why they changed it, though, because we really were getting free gold for an hour's boredom. I didn't even really need to use my tanking pet for the trash because they were doing me so little damage, and I'm really not well geared or anything so I don't imagine other classes would have any problems.

With the bosses I didn't notice a lot of difference, and I needed to use Mend Pet occasionally, but they were never doing enough damage to cause any trouble. I wouldn't call it fun - I'm only still running it for Sulfuron Ingots now that I've got my Crown of Destruction - but I'd guess I still got between twenty and thirty gold from selling the trash, and it wasn't a very long time.

Not to be sniffed at, I suppose, so if you have 45 minutes or an hour to kill and feel like doing something different, there's always that. Comment by Ambellina You need to be attuned to this dungeon to enter without a raid group as of 5. Trying to enter through the BRD entrance without the attunement will result in you running face first into the invisible wall behind the portal, which is not a good look.

Comment by Demonae With the new solo-raid accessibility of 5. Once you have completed Attunement to the Core you can go through Lothos Riftwaker outside Black Rock Mountain, and you don't have to be in a raid. Gather all of the characters meant to fit in a full raid, have all of the characters inside of the instance, and kill the boss. When he dies, his money will be split among the full raid. To avoid the human aspect of greed, a multiboxing system is recommended. Have all of the characters then give their dividends to the main character.

There, now you get your old soloing money back. It went very smoothly, the only time I dropped below k health was after the Baron tossed me in the air, but I burned him down before he did it a 2nd time. I also got 4 BoE purple drops from trash mobs. I made it through the Rag fight before he tossed me. All in all very easy as is getting the attunement if you hadn't done that yet.

Didn't get my leg drop though. Comment by Why the hell is this old ass raid still require an attunement quest to get into it? I could have sworn that crap was removed ages ago, but Loftos will not transport me into the raid without that damned quest being done. Comment by ZeroHasao OH this is going to fun, im going in and try and solo it, unless you want to come.

Comment by What level do I need to get attuned 55 or 60? I have soloed it many tiems and would now like to run a couple of level 55s thru if possible. OK, at level 55 I got te quest, swam thru lava and got attuned and entered Molten Core in min.

Easy to do. Comment by Mariusrik Im trying to get the tier 1 set for rogues, but i did not get all parts of it, do the instance reset so i can kill the bosses again? Comment by mewmewface i did this a long time ago and my armory claims i didnt. You can talk to the blood elf and be teleported without doing the quest. Has this always been the case? Anyway, it makes it even easier to enter this awesome raid at level Comment by Nelora Last night I completed a solo run of Molten Core on my lvl 86 ret paladin with an item score around the s.

Soloing the raid went smoothly, I just couldn't pull a lot of adds at once, definitely had to take a few at a time. Only problem I have during the whole raid was the fight with Ragnaros to be expected. My only issue was when he throws you into the air, people had said to keep your back to the right hand wall, but I couldn't do that since Ragnaros stays stationary and I don't have a huge spell range.

Completely soloable around lvl 85 with heavy armor, or help with a companion, just make sure you have a way to keep your health up if he throws you into the air. Who knows! The Molten Core LFR will be available for the entity of WoW's 10th anniversary November December 1 and to people who log within that period of time, you will also get a free Molten Corgi battle-pet. No overgeared people helping the rest, so try to remember that. During the anniversary a PvP Event is also included that will remind you of the good old days.

I don't know if they are revisiting the bosses in order to change the abilities but I doubt since Blizzard is trying to bring this old school feel back for a little. I will keep this post up-to-date with any new information we get on our hands. Edit 1: Corrections Edit 2: Update. Comment by Mondoblasto Just wanted to give a warning: Pre It only did around fire damage, and my spirit beast easily out-healed it with Spirit Mend.

I hurt myself with falling dmg from shallow lava, and I nearly died from the fire dmg because I didn't realize it was hurting so much. I hope this helps, I've spent about 12 hours trying to sort through these issues. Up vote so we can get this info out!

There are others ways to do this, but below is how I did it in classic and the last few LFRs this week. It's macro-ready for easy spamming. Tanks pull one pack at a time. Then kill the big guys. I made that two separate macros.
